Hero's of Idlewood

Welcome to my first published campaign I affectionately call the Gnome Forge series. It is about a gnome wizard named Durtle Stumbleduck who specialized in the school of transmutation magic. A typical gnome with a penchant for all things mechanical who, in his many years of adventuring came across a very rare magical book known as a Manual of Golems. Twenty years after finding the manual he set about creating the massive construct. A huge Iron Golem of immeasurable strength and power, later to be known as the Worldbreaker. While excavating a nearby mountain for a secure place to build a forge he came across another rarity. Deep within the mountain, in a huge cavern he discovered an Elemental Chaos Node, a gateway that leads to the plane of Elemental Chaos, the boarder plane that surrounds the four elemental planes. Durtle constructed a forge around the Elemental Chaos Node to harness its power and then created the Iron Golem. Once completed he realized that others would seek out the book and his creation to control for possibly evil ends so, he did what any good hearted, responsible wizard would do and hid his creation where no one would ever find it along with a copied manual and the control amulet, which was broken into three pieces and hidden away separately.

Worldbreaker Unchained

The adventurers discover the location of the Worldbreaker but the secret to its release is still a mystery. They quickly realize they are not the only ones searchig for the Iron Golem. A greater menace lurks in the shadows and is always but a step behind. The clues keep pointing to Blackstone Temple but you cleared it out long ago, could you have missed something? Did something return?

Crafting

Admittingly, this book manifested on its own as I was creating the campaign. I kept running into the same situation of providing details of "where did the magic item come from, who made it, and how?" This endeavor lead me to read more from the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and other resources about the rules for crafting but the information provided was generalized to give the game master an open hand to fabricate what works best in their world so I took the humbling and huge task of expanding the rules to provide detailed information for this campaign and others.

The Gnome Forge Series

The Gnome Forge Series campaign spans 3 books plus a resource book. The first book titled Hero's of Idlewood begins with the characters starting at 1st level and will take them to 10th, ending with them coming face to face with the Worldbreaker. There are a few optional solo and downtime quests mainly designed for obtaining additional resources, clues, catchup XP if using the traditional experience point system, or unique magic items.

The next book, Worldbeaker Unchained starts with characters at 10th level and will progress to 17th level. This is where the story takes twists and turns exposing factions and other interested groups all fighting for the same prize but don't discount vanquished foes as death can be a temporary thing. Like the previous book there are a few solo, downtime, and XP quests for resources, clues, XP, or special magic items.

The final book, Planar Chaos starts when the characters have achieved the pinacol of their power at 17th level and will conclude long after acheiving 20th. Access to the multiverse is open and those who have been pulling the strings of fate are now taking a direct role by twisting the very fabric of reality. With the disocvery of the Gnome Forge it is time to board your fully restored Spelljammer and pilot it through the astral plane to take the fight to them and end this conflict. There are a few optional quests for specific resources.

Additionally there is a book titled Crafting that encompasses the rules and procedures for crafting all things in the Dungeon and Dragons multiverse for those who desire a detailed play style. From brewing a potion of healing to crafting a legendary vorpal sword, this book will guide you through the process that can be adventures in themselves as they search for specific resources and exotic ingredients needed.
